Carpal Tunnel Surgery
The carpal tunnel is a narrow passageway on the inside of the wrist. It protects a main nerve that runs to the hand and tendons that help the fingers bend. When this nerve gets compressed – from swollen tendons, for example – there is numbness, pain and weakness in the hand. Surgery to relieve this pressure involves cutting the ligament that runs across the nerve. Note: Estimates below are based on Medica Choice network contract rates and only include facility fees for services on the date of the procedure; physician and other professional fees may apply, as well as costs for office visits before the procedure, medication and follow-up care.
